$250/show, plus commission if sells presale tickets.
Position Overview: (2-3 rehearsals per week/ 3-4 hour per rehearsal; plan to spend most of the day at the tech rehearsal on July 5th, 5-6 hours maximum for dress rehearsal on July 6th; 8 shows between July 7th – July 17th)
The stage manager assists with the smooth operation of rehearsals and runs the show during production.
Essential Job Functions
- Calling rehearsals
- Running rehearsals (attendance, line memorization help, provide line notes, set up rehearsal space; assemble prompt book with stage business, prop/set plots, cue sheets)
- Assume active responsibility for the form and discipline of rehearsal and performance, and be the executive instrument on the technical running of each performance.
- Communicating the director’s wishes to designers and crafts people
- Coordinating & supervising the work of the stage crew
- Run the show during production time & maintain the artistic intentions of the Director and the Producer from the dress rehearsal to the end of the run
- Assist stage crew with technical process, make sure all set pieces, props, and costumes are performance ready-communicating with the proper tech crew members to fix any discrepancies
- Make sure stage is clear & safe before and after performances (including sweeping and/or mopping as necessary)
- Communicate with house manager, lighting, and actors regarding production readiness
- Maintain a safe work environment for all members of the production & the audience
- Supervise strike, assign strike tasks to all company members (artistic & technical)Requirements
